Sumac, Gro-Low Fragrant

A striking, low-spreading cultivar bred for its groundcover utility and ornamental charm. It forms a dense, mounding mass of stems just 1 to 2 feet high, yet spreads expansively- often 6 to 8 feet or more- making it ideal for covering banks, slopes, or areas with shallow or poor soils. In spring, before leaves unfurl, the plant produces small yellow-green flowers which later develop into fuzzy red berries that attract birds. The summer foliage is glossy green, but the real show comes in fall- when the leaves transform into brilliant shades of red, orange, and burgundy, lighting up the landscape.
