Fort McNair Red Horsechestnut is a dense hybrid between Buckeye (A. pavia) and Horsechestnut (A. hippocastanum).
A consistent bloomer in late spring, upright clusters of large showy panicles of pink flowers with yellow throats are followed by reddish brown fruit.
Best planted away from sidewalks and driveways where fruit can drop.
The dark green palmate leaves turn shades of gold and orange in the fall, and are resistant to leaf blotch fungus.
Perfectly suited for smaller landscapes with a stout, compact form and rounded crown. #15 gallon 1.25″
