A hardy, vigorous, deciduous fruiting vine bred for cold climates, combining resilience with good fruiting capability. It’s a cross between the wild riverbank grape and concord-type grapes, which gives it excellent winter hardiness and a semi-wild growth habit. In spring, it sends out greenish, inconspicuous blooms that attract bees, followed in late summer to early autumn by clusters of small, deep blue-black berries with seeds. The fruit is well-suited for jelly, juice, or preserves rather than eating fresh, though it is edible.
