Oregon Grape

An evergreen shrub celebrated for its year-round presence and seasonal accents. In early spring, it produces erect racemes of small, fragrant yellow flowers that attract pollinators and light up the landscape. These give way to clusters of dark blue berries, often with a powdery bloom, which mature in summer and feed birds and wildlife. The glossy, pinnate foliage- with spiny margins- remains through the seasons, displaying bronze or reddish tints in new growth and sometimes intensifying to purplish hues in winter.
