Malus ‘Gladiator’ (First Editions ‘Durleo’)

This 2014 Bailey Nursery introduction (part of their First Editions collection) is an excellent ornamental tree with a profusion of bright pink spring flowers followed by small (3/8”) reddish-purple fruit on a stately, upright crown.
Glossy bronze-purple leaves look lush all growing season long.
High disease resistance.
Excellent for small yards and under power lines.
Fairly drought tolerant once established.  Thought to be almost identical to “Thunderchild” (one of its parents) except more disease resistant
