Sporobolis Heterolepis
One of North America’s most graceful native grasses, prized for its fine, hair-like foliage that forms neat, arching mounds resembling green fountains in summer. In late summer, clouds of airy flower panicles rise above the clump, their soft pink-tan tones catching the light and swaying gently in the wind. The flowers have a subtle, sweet fragrance often compared to coriander or popcorn. By autumn, the foliage turns rich golden-orange, then fades to light tan through winter, providing long-lasting structure and movement in the landscape.
