Spruce, Mesa Verde

A distinctive dwarf conifer that defies the typical vertical growth of spruces by stretching outward in a low, spreading habit. Rather than climbing upward, it “crawls” across the landscape, forming a lush evergreen mat. Its needles are green instead of the more usual blue hue of many Colorado spruces, bringing a softer, subtler evergreen tone to the garden.
