Salix alba ‘Vitellina’
A very colorful variety of hardy white willow noted for its bright yellow twigs.
Provides welcome color in early spring and winter when everything else is rather drab.
Grows in large shrub-like form or may be pruned into a single trunk.
Useful in windbreaks where water is available.
Space 8-15’ apart for a windbreak depending upon how quickly one wants it to fill in.
Twigs are great for making baskets. Found thriving at 7000’ elevation.
Very fast grower.
