The wayfaring bush is a sturdy, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub that offers year-round interest. In spring, it produces flat clusters of creamy white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by glossy red fruit that mature to black, which persist into winter and feed birds. Its leaves turn a subtle golden-yellow in autumn.
