Honeyberry, Cinderella

A compact, hardy shrub prized for producing one of the earliest edible berries of the season. In early spring, it produces clusters of creamy-white, tubular, fragrant flowers- often before many other fruiting shrubs begin to bloom. These blossoms give way to bluish-purple, elongated berries by late May to June, which are noted for their sweet-tart flavor reminiscent of blueberry and currant blends. Over time, it grows into a rounded shrub about 3 to 4 feet tall and wide with lush green foliage that fills in nicely to the ground.
